CREA
CITIZEN SUMMARY
What This Act Is About:
The Corporate Reinvestment and Equity Act of 2026 is a proposal to rebalance the American
economic system so that the public receives a direct return on the investments it already makes.
Every American taxpayer helps fund hospitals, schools, roads, research, and workforce training.
These public investments produce the educated workers and infrastructure that large corporations
depend on to generate billions in profit. This Act provides that when corporations benefit from that
public investment, they should return a fair portion of their surplus profits back to the people
who made their success possible.
The Core Idea:
CREA establishes a new system in which large corporations return a share of their surplus profits
directly to the U.S. Treasury. Those returned funds are then used to guarantee essential services
for all citizens and to reduce the national debt. In simple terms, the Act treats public
infrastructure and education as a form of national investment and ensures that the returns from
that investment are shared with the American people.
